Mother Hulda making her bed, the wolf in her grandmother’s nightgown, Little Red Riding Hood herself, of course, the huntsman who brought Snow White into the forest, Hansel and Gretel in a large gingerbread house complete with witch, the Frog King, and and and……. The characters from Grimm’s fairy tales are omnipresent at the Christmas market in Kaltenberg. Just like the fairy tales themselves, which are performed as theater or told in cozy tents. And anyone who finds the seven dwarves hiding on the market grounds can look forward to a little surprise.

For those who feel they have outgrown their fairytale age, jugglers, stilt walkers, bards, contemplative brass musicians, alphorn players, Perchten and exciting fire shows provide entertainment. Not to be forgotten among the attractions is Floki, the interactive snowflake that reacts to visitors’ piano skills with its play of lights, as well as our oversized Advent calendar. Traditional arts and crafts are on offer at the numerous market stalls. Instead of industrial goods, you will find numerous handmade products with which you can surprise your loved ones at Christmas. And, of course, guests’ physical well-being is catered for with a wide range of food and drink, both at the stalls and in our tavern and the Kaltenberger Ritterschwemme. All this, together with the magical ambience created by thousands of lights against the magnificent backdrop of Kaltenberg Castle, makes the Kaltenberg Christmas Market unique and the most atmospheric market in the region for the young and young at heart
This year, the Advent market at Kaltenberg Castle will whisk the public away into a fairytale Christmas world at every turn on all 4 Advent weekends.

Admission

Friday: €10.00
Saturday and Sunday: €12.50 Groups of 20 adults or more receive a 10% discount.
Groups of 40 adults or more receive a 20% discount.
Bus drivers are free, as are children and young people up to and including the age of 15.
Disabled persons with a GdB of 100% pay €4.00 on Fridays / €5.00 on Saturdays and Sundays, the necessary accompanying person is free.

There are plenty of parking spaces for coaches.
